Delivering Projects within the Scottish Executive
Abacus (Caledonia) Ltd has enjoyed a long relationship with the Scottish Executive, operating initially in the area of Diversity. This involvement developed to include Project Management, which has now become our major area of support.
Through the Centre of Expertise for Project Management the Scottish Executive has sought to roll out a methodology which compliments and supports the framework offered by the PRINCE2 model of project management. Abacus has worked closely with this approach and currently delivers a suite of Project Management products ranging from Senior Responsible Owners to project team member skills and techniques.
Outwith the generic workshops, Abacus has been invited to add specific support to a number of project teams within the Scottish Executive including, CAP Reform, Single Agency and the AIB Relocation Project. In each instance Abacus (Caledonia) Ltd was able to operate a structured review of existing project documentation and planning and, through a combination of skills development and facilitation, were able to assist in the forward project planning.
The drive to establish Siberline (UK) Ltd as a World Class Organisation
In June 2004 Silberline UK Ltd, the major European supplier of paint pigments, looked to follow its US parent by establishing a process improvement framework aimed at positioning the company for the challenges offered by emerging markets. Seeking an external partner to support the design and implementation of this framework, the company identified Abacus (Caledonia) Ltd as the right organisation with the right approach and skill level to compliment the internal steering group.
Through the identification of priorities and establishing key measurement criteria Abacus were able to support and develop operating guidelines and reporting structures for delivery of process improvement activities. By continuing to build on this relationship, Abacus is now working with Silberline (UK) Ltd to develop an internal communications strategy to compliment the now established framework. |
